ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT

Scoping Assessment

Scoping Assessments are done by the National Environmental Management(NEMA) Act 107 of 1998 and the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development(MPRDA) Act 28 of 2002. Before any development, the scoping phase is essential in determining the overall environmental studies and research required to ensure compliance with legal and other requirements.

Basic Assessment

Basic Assessment is done by the National Environmental Management(NEMA) Act 107 of 1998 and the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development(MPRDA) Act 28 of 2002. The Basic assessments will follow depending on the outcome of the scoping assessment and any local government by-laws that may warrant the completion of the basic assessment.

Environmental Impact Assessment

Environmental Impact Assessment is done in accordance with the National Environmental Management(NEMA) Act 107 of 1998 and the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development(MPRDA) Act 28 of 2002. A Full Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) will follow depending on the outcome of the scoping assessment and any local government by-laws that may warrant the completion of the basic assessment.

Dust Management Plan

Dust Management Plan is done in line with National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act 39 of 2004. This recommends required control measures that mitigate the amount of dust to meet the standard of the regulations. We offer technical services for Dust Management Plans.

Atmospheric Emission License Applications

Nsuku consulting provides technical support in the Atmospheric Emission License in terms of the National Environmental Management Air Quality Act 39 of 2004. We also conduct Atmospheric Impact Assessments, full and Basic Environmental Impact Assessments, and Public Participation in line with the relevant regulations.

Environmental Authorizations

Nsuku consulting specializes in Environmental Authorization for clients in different fields such as Agricultural, industrial, urban, or rural areas development and infrastructure sectors. The services that are rendered include; Conducting Basic Assessments or Full Scoping and Environmental Impact Assessments, compilation of Environmental Management Programmes (EMPr), Conducting Public Participation Processes, consultation services, and management of all the required interactions with the regulating authorities.

Water Use License Application

Nsuku consulting conducts Water Use Licence Applications (WULA) based on the National Water Act 36 of 1998 (NWA). We also provide technical solutions to mining and non-mining clients pertaining to water management.

Environment Monitoring

Qualified environmentalists rendered the full scope of environment monitoring in terms of specific environmental legislation. Environmentalists monitor activities that are taking place on-site in terms of authorizations or licenses. Environment Monitoring includes: Dust Fallout Water Monitoring(Surface and Ground Water) Environment performance Assessment Environmental Audits Gap analysis

Health & Safety Policy Development

Policy development tabling company aims, objectives, and commitments as required by legislation section 7 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 and section 8 of the Mine Health and Safety Act 29 of 1996.

Risk Assessment

Section 11 of the Mine Health and Safety Act requires the employer to assess and respond to risk. Our company has sought after knowledge and experience in the field and will be instrumental in assisting clients with at least the risk assessments listed below:
  • Baseline Risk Assessment – A Baseline Risk Assessment is an assessment process to obtain a benchmark of the types and size of potential hazards in the working environment.
  • Issue-Based Risk Assessment -The issue-based risk assessment focuses on operational activities, processes, and systems-based business functions. It also focuses on the identification of the risks within a certain task, process, or activity.
  • Continuous Risk Assessment -A continuous risk assessment is an informal risk assessment that is performed on an ongoing basis.

Heritage impact assessment report

We offer an Independent heritage consultation services in terms of section 38 of NHRA. We liase with authorities, facilitate an HIA (Heritage Impact Analysis) then conduct archaeological mitigation.
